NetGalactic wins IS0 9001 Certification
The 13th of October, year 2000 is a red-letter day for
all NetGalactians. It is on this particular day that NetGalactic
received the prestigious IS0 9001 certification for Quality
Standards, after an extensive, exhaustive audit by STQC,
a certification body under the Ministry of Information Technology,
Government of India.
NetGalactic was audited by experienced auditors
from the STQC for its implementation of Quality Management
System under ISO 9001 Year 2000 version. Presumably, NetGalactic
is the first company in India and one of the very few in the
world to have been audited for the ISO 9001 Year 2000 draft
standard.
ISO 9001 Year 2000 draft standard is an enhanced
version of the current IS0 9000 standards. This new standard
lays further emphasis on customer focus, customer satisfaction
and process-oriented approach towards deployment of quality
management system.
NetGalactic undertook the challenging task
of implementing a new version of the ISO 9000 standards as
it felt that the new standard would gel with its own idea
of providing customer service that constantly exceeds customer
expectations. A suitable policy statement supported by adequate
resources, hierarchy-less organizational structure, barrier-less
communication systems have helped build a strong platform
for designing the customer-oriented software development processes.
NetGalactic took an innovative path towards
establishing the development methodology. While the software
industry is highly project-oriented, NetGalactic devised its
systems to be more process-oriented to ensure that every development
project undergoes the rigors of a standard development methodology.
This approach has enabled NetGalactic to provide its customers
with solutions that will constantly exceed their expectations.
NetGalactic's implementation of ISO 9000
standards has brought us closer to the SEI-CMM Level 3 compliance,
since a common implementation strategy has been worked out.
NetGalactic has been able to achieve this feat in such a brief
span of time due to its focus on quality, customers and human
resources.
