When setting up and Offshore Development Center or an offshore relationship, NG engages the following steps to ensure that a strong foundation is developed and will endure for a longtime.

Key Team Identification

NG will take responsibility for managing the Offshore Development Center. NG will identify an Offshore Development Center Manager who will be responsible for all technical and managerial activities of the offshore development center. Meanwhile on the client’s side as well, a single point of contact will be identified, called the Client Program Manager.
Offshore Development Center Manager and the Client Program Manager will jointly arrive at the resource and project needs and these key personnel will determine the success of Offshore Development Center.

Requirement Analysis

A team of NG consultants will be posted at the client’s office for a required period of time. These consultants will study existing business processes, applications, methodology and tools, documentation (if any), work environment, project execution plan (PEP) and the creation of a small pilot project.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure (Communication links, Software, Hardware) specific to the project will be identified and deployed onsite as well as offsite.

Offsite Plan

An offsite Offshore Development Center team is identified. This team is imparted with the study made by the onsite team. Based on the approved PEP the first small pilot project is executed. Initially the Feature Specifications are prepared and is discussed with the Partner Program Manager. The execution process will usually follow the NetGalactic development life cycle. At the end of the process the offsite team will deliver the source code and documentation to the onsite team.

Feedback is received from the partner and onsite team and the process changes are made to bring in efficiency and effectiveness in this specific operation.

Now a regular offsite phase commences which usually starts with multiple project activities with the partner. The identified NetGalactic Offshore Development Center Manager will have multiple Project Managers offsite to handle different project.

Customization

The Offshore Development Center processes and development methodology is verified and suggestions are gathered from the onsite team. With the suggestions and other analysis the process are optimized for better performance. Reporting structures and formats are formed. Partner Program Manager is trained on the usage of NetGalactic’s extranet to track and monitor the projects.
